Aveda™, The Art and Science of Pure Flower and Plant Essence™, was founded in 1978 with the goal of providing beauty industry professionals with high performance, botanically based products that would be better for service providers and their guests, as well as for the planet.

Aveda is the first beauty company manufacturing with 100% wind power. We have a bold commitment to wind energy: one hundred percent of the electrical usage at our corporate headquarters, distribution centre and primary manufacturing facility is now offset by wind energy purchases.

Responsible Packaging
Aveda's goal in packaging is to reduce its use of virgin materials and incorporate as much post-consumer recycled (PCR) content as possible. Each product is carefully reviewed to determine how to minimize the use of labeling and packaging inserts. In 2000, we challenged our packaging suppliers to increase the PCR content of its bottles to an unprecedented 80 percent PCR.
